Sporozoans are parasitic protozoans which usually reproduce by the producing of spores. Sporozoans are only parasites of animals. There are over 4516 species and 339 genera of sporozoans.
Sporozoans are eukaryotic cells. They are non motile which means they have no movement. Sporozoans lack cilia and flagella. However they can move around by flowing with the currents in fluids or the blood of their hosts.
Most sporozoans are intercellular. Part of their life span takes place inside a host. Their structures are designed to penetrate a host cell.
